FMBC Prayer Needs

Robin Wright went to the hospital as they are having trouble regulating her heart. She has a follow up appointment with her physician. Please pray for her heart rate to level out and for her to feel better.

Ferman Day is home and very sore due to surgery being more extensive than expected. Please pray for his continued healing.

Lori Harris' mother, Dorothy, is doing well following surgery but is struggling to understand what is happening. Please pray for the peace of God to comfort this dear family.

Arrangements for Jerry Smith's mother, Hilda Smith:
Visitation will be Friday, 11/22 from 6-8pm at the Tabernacle. Funeral will be 2pm on Saturday, 11/23 also at the Tabernacle. Burial will follow the funeral at Highland Burial Park. The Family will be receiving friends at 2388 R & L Smith Dr, Danville, VA 24540.

Arrangements for Doug Porter, the brother of Jane Ragsdale:
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Highland Burial Park.
The family will be at the residence of his son, Doug Porter, Jr.,466 Oak Forest Circle, Danville, VA 24540.

Ferman Day had hernia surgery today and did well. He will go home today. Please pray for his healing and for Jackie as she cares for him.

Jackie Day's mother has been in Danville hospital for a bowel blockage and hopes to go home tomorrow. She is in room 6123. Please keep Jackie and her mother in your prayers.

Lori Harris' mother, Dorothy Adkins, is in room 4100 at the Danville Hospital and will have surgery to correct her broken hip today. Please keep this dear family in your prayers in this difficult time.

David Scearce will have reverse shoulder surgery Thursday 12/5. Please pray for his healing and strength.

Emma Thornton surgery to remove her thyroid is Monday 12/9. Please continue to pray for her, Amanda, Wilbur and the medical staff.

David Grogan will see the surgeon this Thursday 11/21 to find out a date for surgery. Please continue to pray for him and Carol as they await his surgery.

Sharon Swicegood received some good news today as her cancer has not spread beyond her head and back. Please continue to lift her to the Lord in prayer. If you would like to send her a card of encouragement Sharon is staying with her daughter for now so you can send it to:

Jerry Smith's mom, Hilda, has had a heart attack and massive stroke. She is in her 90s. She is waking up and moving her right side aw well as responding to family. Please pray for this dear family in this difficult time.

Sharon Swicegood has had problems with her vision.  An MRI revealed a mass in the bone in her skull and another mass behind her right eye.  Sharon underwent CT scans yesterday afternoon which will aid doctors in coming up with a treatment plan.  Radiation and chemo will be done and she may possibly need surgery.  Due to the impact of the treatment on her immune system, she will stay in Richmond with her daughter, Martha.  Sharon wants you to know that she dearly misses our church family and she covets your prayers for her and for her daughter,  Martha, as she cares for Sharon.  Further test results will be shared as information becomes available.

Please pray for the daughter of Amanda Doss and granddaughter of Wilbur Doss, Emma Thornton, as Emma will be having surgery to remove her thyroid on Monday 12/9. They will be testing for cancer once it is removed. Please pray for this dear family in a special way.

Robert Dehart is continuing to improve and had a great doctor's visit. Please pray for his continued healing and for Karen as she cares for him.

Please pray for Dot and James Paul as they returned from their daughter's house last month and while there Dot became septic from a UTI. She is much better now, however they will be watching services from home for awhile as she continues to recover and to prevent further illness for her and James.

Please pray for Becky Williams sister-in-law, Wendy Flinchum, as she is in the hospital and they have found a large mass on her pancreas. They are running tests and making a treatment plan. Becky appreciates your prayers for her family.

Corey and Chasity Phillips welcomed their twins into the world Saturday. A boy, Cooper Drake, and a girl, Caylee Drew. Mom and babies are doing well. 

Daniel and Katherine Scruggs had a beautiful baby girl, Charlotte Blair, born 10/20/24 at 11:10am weighing 7lbs 1oz and 22inches long. Mom and baby girl continue to do well.

Becky and Jerry Williams received good news regarding their son Jeff. His cancer has not spread to other areas as previously thought. He will have surgery Thursday 10/31. Jerry and Becky thank you for your continued prayers.

Please pray for Jackie Davis as he was in a serious accident yesterday morning. Praise the Lord he was not seriously injured, however, his truck was totaled. Please join us in praising the Lord for his wonderful protection of Jackie.

Jewell Hylton lost her nephew, Bradford Cox, Tuesday from a massive heart attack. He was only 36. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at Swicegood Funeral Home on West Main. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Please keep Jewell, Richard, and their family in your prayers in this difficult time.

Please pray for JoAnn Morrison as she has been admitted to Centra in Lynchburg. Her heart is in Vfib and the pacemaker/defibrillator has socked her heart repeatedly but her heart remains in Vfib. Please pray for JoAnn and Doug to be comforted by the Lord's sweet presence. 

Susan Ridge's mother, Norma Jean Moore, passed away Tuesday. She was 88 years old.
Arrangements:  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, October 14, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, West End Chapel. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Please pray for Susan, Patrick, and their family in a special way in their time of loss. Please also pray for Patrick to get well as he has been very sick.
