Pastor Daniel Lackey was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina on August 23, 1958 and is the son of the late Grady Lackey, who was a pastor inMartinsville, Virginia for 40 years. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1977. His formal training includes attending Piedmont Baptist College, in Winston Salem, NC from 1977 to 1980 and Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, GA from 1986 to 1992. His degrees include a Bachelor in Religious Education and a Masters in Religious Education.
Pastor Lackey currently serves on the Piedmont Baptist College and Graduate School Board of Trustees in Winston – Salem N.C. He is also a part of the 360 Circle of Shepherds at Shepherds Seminary in Raleigh, N.C. Pastor Lackey has on occasion taught seminary classes, recently speaking at Shepherds Seminary on the subject of “Enduring Ministry”, with the emphasis on the value and blessing of a long term pastorate.
Pastor Lackey has served as senior pastor of Faith Memorial Baptist Church since September 5, 1982. Under his leadership, Faith Memorial has grown from 20 active members to over 500 active members at present. He also led the church through 2 major building programs. Over 200 new members have joined the Faith Memorial Baptist Church family since completion of the new facility in June of 2007, with 96 Professions of Faith that have obeyed the Lord in Baptism.
Pastor Lackey’s main emphasis in ministry has been to glorify God by spreading the gospel of Christ both at home and abroad, and to build the faith of the saints through expository Bible preaching.
Pastor Lackey and his wife, Geneva, have been married since 1979. Together they have 2 children, Seth and Jennifer. Both children are married. Pastor and Mrs. Lackey are proud grandparents to Britton Daniel Lackey and Mollie Grace.
